Jazz Performance Saturday! The New Black Eagle Jazz Band plays "Yearning"

Since I saw the New Black Eagle Jazz Band play on Thursday, I thought it would be appropriate to focus this Saturday Jazz Performance on them.

The band was formed in 1971 and has played all over the world making appearances everywhere from international jazz festivals to small dives and everything in-between. In 2011 they celebrated their 40th year of existence and opened the Newport Jazz Festival.

In the video below, which was taped on February 7, 2013 at The Sounds of Mardi Gras in Fresno, California, the band consists of  leader Tony Pringle on cornet; Stan Vincent on trombone; Butch Thompson on clarinet; Bob Pilsbury on piano; Peter Bulllis on banjo; Pam Parmeijer on drums, and Mark Caperone playing bass. Pianist Bob Pilsbury has since retired due to ill health.
"Yearning" heard hear is, Yearning Just For You which was written by Benny Davis and Joe Burke. It was first recorded by Harry Reser's Syncopators in 1925 and is a minor standard with Trad Jazz bands.
